Fr. James S. Moreno

Named publicly in the CO A.G.’s report in 12/20 as having abused a boy ages 15-17 many times 1978-80. Moreno plied the boy with alcohol and marijuana, and raped him. His victim first came forward via the IRRP in late 2019. Moreno admitted to the abuse. Laicization pending. His victim filed a lawsuit in 1/22 alleging abuse 1978-82, from freshman at St. Andrew’s Preparatory Seminary High School and into his college years. He also alleged that Moreno and other priests raped him at the Cathedral Basilica of the Immaculate Conception on one occasion.
