In 2018 Morlino gave a man a secret $200K settlement to keep him quiet about allegations of rape and of stealing his money. Morlino also allegedly raped a second man. The allegations came to light in 10/2023. Morlino admitted to the settlement, but denied the sexual abuse and fraud. He was investigated, suspended, and returned to his order in Latrobe PA. Added to the Archdiocese of Baltimore’s list in 12/2024, which notes that in 2023 it received an allegation against Morlino of child sexual abuse. The allegation reportedly surfaced after Morlino was removed from ministry due to the allegation of financial fraud.

Our Database of Publicly Accused does not state or imply that individuals facing allegations are guilty of a crime or liable for civil claims. The reports contained in the database are merely allegations. The U.S. legal system presumes that a person accused of or charged with a crime is innocent until proven guilty. Similarly, individuals who may be defendants in civil actions are presumed not to be liable for such claims unless a plaintiff proves otherwise. Admissions of guilt or liability are not typically a part of civil or private settlements. For more information, see our posting policy.
