Monsignor. Allegedly abused a 15-year-old girl in the 1960s. She filed a civil suit in 1994. At least four other women later came forward with similar complaints, after which Mott took a six-month leave. He underwent psychiatric evaluation twice, and each time was found to not be in need of counseling. Suit dropped 1995 due to SOL. Two of the women filed suit in 1997; suit dismissed 1998. Diocese settled with both women. Died in 6/9/99. Accused in a suit filed in 8/19 of abuse of a boy, ages 9-10, in 1958-1961. The boy attended St. Raphael’s in East Meadow. Included on the diocese’s list of accused in 3/21.
