First allegations received in 1986. Kept in ministry until 1993. Five men filed suit in 9/2002 alleging Mullins molested them as children and that the diocese should have known he was unfit. Suit dismissed under statute of limitations; four of the plaintiffs refiled under a new law. Dismissed again in 1/2004. Included in 420/06 on the diocese’s list of credibly accused. A sixth plaintiff filed a civil suit in 7/2004 alleging abuse 1978-1980. Diocese agreed to release of personnel files in 3/2013 as part of a settlement in Rudofski v Joliet & Bennett. Files released 4/30/2014. Laicized in 2018. Included in the 5/23/2023 IL Attorney General’s Report, which notes 12 “reported survivors.”
