Fr. Mieczyslaw F. Nycz

Ordained: 1994
Status: Sued

Diocese: Diocese of Buffalo NY

“Matt.” Accused in a lawsuit filed by a man 5/24/21 under the NY Child Victims Act of encouraging him 1994-98 as an elementary school boy to engage in sexual acts with four girls “provided” by Nycz and two other priests, Revs. Gregory Dobson and Adolph Kowalczyk. Per the suit, the man feared the priests secretly filmed them. He was a student at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart in Orchard park. Nycz was pastor of SS. Peter and Paul in Williamsville when placed on leave due to the allegations. The three priests denied “ever committing any acts of abuse.” In 10/21 the diocese’s review board determined that the allegations against Nycz, Dobson and Kowalczyk were unsubstantiated. All three were reinstated.

Our Database of Publicly Accused does not state or imply that individuals facing allegations are guilty of a crime or liable for civil claims. The reports contained in the database are merely allegations. The U.S. legal system presumes that a person accused of or charged with a crime is innocent until proven guilty. Similarly, individuals who may be defendants in civil actions are presumed not to be liable for such claims unless a plaintiff proves otherwise. Admissions of guilt or liability are not typically a part of civil or private settlements. For more information, see our posting policy.
