Fr. John J. Nyeste
In 11/18 a man alleged sexual abuse by Nyeste when he was an 11-year-old altar boy at St. Emory’s in Connellsville, PA. The man said the abuse occurred at Nyeste’s farmhouse in the mountains, that he passed out after the priest gave him wine and awakened to find Nyeste on top of him. Nyeste worked in PA, NY and OH. He died 5/19/87 in Cleveland, OH. Nyeste’s accuser was offered a settlement by the diocese, but said was not sure he would accept it.
