Fr. Denis O’Driscoll
Accused in a lawsuit of sexually abusing a boy, ages 8-9, in 1979-80 while assigned to St. Paul’s in Hingham. The abuse allegedly occurred in the parish school, where the boy was a student. Settled in 4/20 in the mid-five figures. Driscoll was a priest of the Society of African Missions until 1982, when he was possibly incardinated into the Boston archdiocese. He appears to have begun work in the archdiocese in 1977. He died in 1994.

Our Database of Publicly Accused does not state or imply that individuals facing allegations are guilty of a crime or liable for civil claims. The reports contained in the database are merely allegations. The U.S. legal system presumes that a person accused of or charged with a crime is innocent until proven guilty. Similarly, individuals who may be defendants in civil actions are presumed not to be liable for such claims unless a plaintiff proves otherwise. Admissions of guilt or liability are not typically a part of civil or private settlements. For more information, see our posting policy.
