Former Legionaries of Christ priest, incardinated into the Archdiocese of Los Angeles in 2/2021. The Archdiocese received an allegation in 6/2023 that Alejandro sexually abused a teenager. Removed from ministry in 8/2023. A private investigator informed the Archdiocese on 7/27/2023 that there was “sufficient evidence” of the abuse. It also found that Ortega had engaged in “sexually inappropriate and unwanted physical touch, usually with adult women.” Ortega was assigned to St. Monica’s in Converse at the time of his removal. Matter referred to the Vatican. No criminal charges.
