Fr. Martin L. Pavlock
Named publicly by the Diocese on its 3/20/2018 list as removed, retired, or having left ministry after allegations of the sexual abuse of a minor. Per the Catholic Directory, Pavlock was ‘awaiting assignment’ 1985-1986, ‘absent on leave’ 2002-2003, then ‘retired.’ Removed from the diocesan payroll 5/1/2020 as part of a bankruptcy agreement. A lawsuit filed in 7/2020 claims abuse 1973-1974 of a 7- to 8-year-old. As of 1/2022, the case was sent to the Vatican. The list in 9/2025 shows that Pavlock was sentenced to a life of prayer and penance.

Our Database of Publicly Accused does not state or imply that individuals facing allegations are guilty of a crime or liable for civil claims. The reports contained in the database are merely allegations. The U.S. legal system presumes that a person accused of or charged with a crime is innocent until proven guilty. Similarly, individuals who may be defendants in civil actions are presumed not to be liable for such claims unless a plaintiff proves otherwise. Admissions of guilt or liability are not typically a part of civil or private settlements. For more information, see our posting policy.
