Diocese: Archdiocese of Omaha NE

Ordained to the permanent diaconate in 2007. Named publicly as credibly accused by the Archdiocese on its list 11/30/2018, which notes a report in 2016 of abuse in 1978, prior to his formation as a deacon. Removed in 2016. Per the NE Attorney General’s report in 11/2021, in 2016 the Archdiocese learned that in 1978 Pickett was accused of flashing his genitals at a 16-year-old girl, and was convicted of “debauching a minor.” He was sentenced to six months in the county jail.

Our Database of Publicly Accused does not state or imply that individuals facing allegations are guilty of a crime or liable for civil claims. The reports contained in the database are merely allegations. The U.S. legal system presumes that a person accused of or charged with a crime is innocent until proven guilty. Similarly, individuals who may be defendants in civil actions are presumed not to be liable for such claims unless a plaintiff proves otherwise. Admissions of guilt or liability are not typically a part of civil or private settlements. For more information, see our posting policy.
