Fr. Richard P. Presenti
Admitted in 2003 that he abused a 14-year-old boy in 1973. The boy immediately told his parents and the Archdiocese; Presenti was kept in active ministry. Sued by three men alleging abuse as teenagers. Remained the provincial treasurer, entrusted with directing the Order’s financial affairs until 7/2005, when he stepped aside. Sued by another in 6/2007. Appeals court ruled in 1/2008 that the Salesians didn’t know he presented a risk of sexual abuse prior to his assault of the victims. Included on the Oakland diocese’s list in 2019.
