Fr. Bruno F. Primavera
Priest of the Archdiocese of Toronto, Canada. Sent to the Norwich diocese with a warning that he was known to seek out teen boys. Civil suits filed in 2001 and 2002 alleged abuse of two boys at parishes in CT in the late 1970s. Sent for treatment. Transferred to the Las Cruces NM diocese. Arrested there in 1990 for abuse and child porn. Sentenced to four years’ prison. Laicized. Died 1/17/2006. In 11/2006 the Norwich diocese settled a 2002 suit by one man for $1.1M. Remaining suit settled in 1/2007 for $2M. On the Las Cruces diocese’s list 11/8/1208. It notes reports of abuse in 1990 and in 2016. Assigned to NMMI and Assumption parish in Roswell 1989-1990. On the Norwich diocese’s list 2/22/2019; removed from ministry there in 1980. On Hartford’s list 1/22/2019; NW Catholic HS faculty 1981, removed after two months. Lived at an Enfield parish 1981-1983, helped out. Removed from ministry in 1990 by Toronto.
