Given name was Victor David Probstfield. Reportedly was assigned early in his priesthood to Elkhorn NE, to many parishes in MO, and to the Indian Mission at Fort Yates ND. He was the Conception Abbey business manager 1970-1976. Probstfield died 2/11/2007. He was named publicly as accused by the Springfield-Cape Girardeau diocese on its list updated 4/1/2019. The list notes that abuse by Probstfield allegedly occurring in the 1970s was reported in 2014. His name was included on the Conception Abbey Benedictines’ 8/5/2019 list of credibly accused.
