Ordained for the permanent diaconate in 1975. Named publicly as credibly accused by the Archdiocese on its list 11/30/2018, which notes reports in 1991 of the abuse of two minors prior to 1991. Per the NE Attorney General’s 11/2021 report, the abuse was reported by relatives of Purnell, who alleged he sexually abused two girls, ages 2 and 4.
