Ordained: 1903
Status: Accused

Died: 05/10/2021
Diocese: Diocese of Buffalo NY

Named publicly as credibly accused by the Diocese of Buffalo on its list updated 11/5/2018. From Italy. Worked in Italy after his 1903 ordination until 11/1904, when he arrived in New York to do missionary work with the Salesians of Don Bosco. In 1905 Raimondo was transferred to the Archdiocese of Los Angeles. Per a 1907 biographical sketch, Raimondo was chosen as pastor of the Church of the Immaculate Conception in Los Angeles “because of his ability to to interest the younger people in the church work as his past years since graduating and after being ordained have been with children and younger people.” Reportedly in 4/1908, Raimondo returned to Italy, citing poor health. He is shown in news reports in 1909 as curate of St. Anthony’s in Elizabeth, NJ, in 1910 as pastor of St. Anthony’s in Farnham NY,  and in 1914 of Francis of Assisi in Buffalo NY. He died in 1921 in Salt Lake City, UT, where he had been assigned to the Cathedral of the Madeleine for two years.

Our Database of Publicly Accused does not state or imply that individuals facing allegations are guilty of a crime or liable for civil claims. The reports contained in the database are merely allegations. The U.S. legal system presumes that a person accused of or charged with a crime is innocent until proven guilty. Similarly, individuals who may be defendants in civil actions are presumed not to be liable for such claims unless a plaintiff proves otherwise. Admissions of guilt or liability are not typically a part of civil or private settlements. For more information, see our posting policy.
