After ordination, Riebe spent four years at St. Anne’s Parish in Santa Monica. Moved to Mexico in 1974 and spent next 21 years ministering to Indians. Expelled by the Mexican government in 1995. L.A. archdiocese began notifying dioceses throughout the country in early 2008 that it had several credible allegations against him of sexual misconduct with minors dating from the early 1970s. Worked in Diocese of Phoenix in 1996-97 (on its list as “Lawrence” Riebe). As of 2008, incardinated in the Diocese of San Cristobal de las Casas, Chiapas, Mexico. Died in 2018.
