Fr. Barry J. Ryan
Removed from ministry in 1994. Air Force chaplain for many years. Left the military in 1995 after an investigation in 1994 of sexual misconduct with a minor in Mobile, AL. Publicly named as accused in 2003. Pled guilty in late 2004 to the abuse of a 6-year-old boy in the Fall of 2003 in NY. Resided at St. Luke Institute in MD, rather than jail, because of “health.” Attempted suicide in 8/2007. Remanded to prison 10/29/2007. Was living at St. John Vianney Renewal Center as of 6/2009. Laicized 10/28/2011. Included on the Mobile archdiocese’s list 12/6/2018. On the Brooklyn diocese’s list in 2/2019.
