Fr. Robert F. Ryan
Accused in a claim settled in 2020 in the low five figures of sexually abusing an altar boy, age 14, in 1962-63, while assigned to Holy Cross in Springfield, PA. The alleged abuse occurred in the parish school, where the boy was a student. It involved making the boy strip off his clothes, whipping the boy’s back and buttocks with a belt, then placing his hand on the boy’s body where he had been whipped. Ryan died in 12/2005.
