Slavish and six other priests were placed on leave by the bishop in 5/02 after allegations of abuse involving minors. Privileges were revoked. Slavish was scheduled to retire in summer of 2002 but he reportedly retired in April. Slavish apparently held parish assignments during his entire career except 1969-71, when he was chaplain at East Moline State Hospital. Died 2/18/16. Included in 2018 on the diocese’s list of accused.
