In 3/2024 a woman told a news reporter that Daley sexually abused her in the early 1970s when she was a sophomore at Stone Ridge School of the Sacred Heart in Bethesda, MD. The abuse allegedly occurred in an office. The woman said she immediately told other teachers, friends and her sister; neither her parents nor police were informed and the sisters were asked to leave the school. The woman, who filed a lawsuit in 2023, said that Daley left the order in 1980 and died in 2015.

Our Database of Publicly Accused does not state or imply that individuals facing allegations are guilty of a crime or liable for civil claims. The reports contained in the database are merely allegations. The U.S. legal system presumes that a person accused of or charged with a crime is innocent until proven guilty. Similarly, individuals who may be defendants in civil actions are presumed not to be liable for such claims unless a plaintiff proves otherwise. Admissions of guilt or liability are not typically a part of civil or private settlements. For more information, see our posting policy.
