Fr. Donald J. Straub
“Father Duck.” Complaints of abuse received by the Archdiocese in 1978; sent to treatment and reassigned in 1979. New allegations in 1986 involving current parish; placed on leave, sent to treatment for three years. Assigned to the cathedral in the Dodge City KS diocese 9/1990-1/1991. Two men filed suits in MO in 2004 alleging sexual abuse as children; the abuse of one began when he was age 8 in the 1970s and the other at age 11 in the early 1980s. At least six more accusers came forward. Some settled in 2005. Laicization announced in 1/2005. A 2006 suit settled in 5/2007. Another suit was filed 5/29/2007. Staub was one of six named in a 7/2008 settlement. Included on the Archdiocese’s 7/26/2019 list of credibly accused. On the Diocese of Dodge City’s list 10/1/2019.
