Fr. Peter L. Tedeschi
In testimony before the RI Senate Judiciary Committee in 3/19, a 73-year-old woman said Tedeschi sexually abused her for over a year, when she was in middle school and Tedeschi was assigned to Holy Trinity in Central Falls. She said her family lived across the street from the parish and that the abuse occurred in the sanctuary, rectory, his car, and in school hallways. She said it continued after he left Holy Trinity and she was a Sacred Heart High School student. Further, she allegedly told another priest during confession when she was 15, and he told her never to tell. She said she confronted Tedeschi when she was age 22, and he admitted his behavior. She also said she told the diocese. She again informed the diocese in 2012, and they contacted law enforcement. Tedeschi died 10/18/86. On the diocese’s list 7/1/19.
