Placed on leave in summer 2002 after a man alleged that Tejada molested him at age 11 in 1973 in the El Paso and Las Cruces NM dioceses. The man said that his parents spoke with someone at the diocese who promised Tejada would get treatment and not be around children. No criminal charges filed. Still in treatment 12/03. Laicized in 2007. On the Las Cruces diocese’s list 11/8/18. On the El Paso diocese’s list 1/31/19 (first name spelled “Dennis.”)
