Fr. Eugene John Teslovic
Diocese: Diocese of Richmond VA
“Retired” in 9/02 after allegations of past sexual abuse of minors. Asked a priest in 8/02 to tell the bishop that he had been approached about a past incident with an adult when he was a deacon. The bishop investigated and learned of several incidents of sexual misconduct with minors during the late-1970s and mid-’80s. There had been rumors about 10 years previously. Bishop Sullivan investigated at the time, but could not substantiate. There may have been complaints in the ’70s and ’80s that were overlooked during the review of priest filesin mid-2002. On diocese’s list 2/13/19.
Our Database of Publicly Accused does not state or imply that individuals facing allegations are guilty of a crime or liable for civil claims. The reports contained in the database are merely allegations. The U.S. legal system presumes that a person accused of or charged with a crime is innocent until proven guilty. Similarly, individuals who may be defendants in civil actions are presumed not to be liable for such claims unless a plaintiff proves otherwise. Admissions of guilt or liability are not typically a part of civil or private settlements. For more information, see our posting policy.
