Reportedly in 4/2002, Tomicky was not in active ministry because of allegations in the past of the abuse of minors. Worked in parishes in Akron, Strongsville and Cleveland. Per the Official Catholic Directory, he was absent on leave 1984-1987 and 1988-1989. Died in 2/2020. His obituary states that in 1980 he became an Air Force chaplain; the Directories show him as a missionary in El Salvador 1980-1983. The obituary also shows that in 3/1987 he was a Huron Road and University Hospital chaplain, then assigned as resident chaplain 7/1988 at St. John’s Hospital. He retired in 1989. Noted on the diocese’s list 6/21/2019 to be retired with total and permanent disability and no faculties for public ministry; ministry restricted due to an allegation which had not yet been substantiated. The main celebrant at his funeral mass was Auxiliary Bishop Roger Gries.
