Served as Judicial Vicar. Accusations date back to seminary. Suspended in 1992. Named in several suits 1994-2002. Claims included in 11 lawsuits which were settled by the Tucson diocese in 1/2002. Arrested and charged in 2001. Seven criminal charges dismissed in 2001 due to the statute of limitations. One suit was set for trial in 6/2004. Bishop Moreno and other diocesan staff did affidavits regarding Trupia’s refusal of treatment in 1992 and his blackmail and allegations about another Bishop in the diocese. Laicized in 2004. Living in MD in 2010. Included on the Diocese’s list of credibly accused. Mentioned in the 4/5/2023 MD Attorney General’s Report.
