Fr. Walter Joseph Turlo
Resigned from his parish and was placed on leave in 6/2005 after allegations of inappropriate behavior with a minor at St. William’s Church in Chicago about 30 years previously. Laicized in 10/2009 per the Chicago archdiocesan report. A lawsuit was filed 6/8/2017 alleging the sexual abuse of a boy, ages 9-10, in the late 1970s. Turlo was found by a news outlet in 10/2018 living around the corner from a grade school in Lyons. Included in the 5/23/2023 IL Attorney General’s Report, which notes four “reported survivors.”
