Named as a perpetrator of abuse in a 12/2002 settlement of $542.5K between the diocese and six people claiming abuse by five priests. Accused of abuse of a girl, ages 15-17, multiple times 1955-1957. Also accused of one instance of abuse of a 12-year-old boy in 1950. Vadeboncoeur died in 1971. (The 1988 Catholic Directory spells his name Va’de’bon’Coeur and in 1995 it is Vade Bon Coeur. It has been misspelled in other sources as Vandenboncoeur.)
