Fr. Gregory D. Vaughan

Monsignor. Parish priest, former vicar for Catholic education, chancellor, vicar general, moderator of the curia, director of vocations. In 3/19, diocese announced it had received a credible allegation against Vaughan of child sex abuse, occurring in the late 1970s-early 1980s, while he was assigned to St. Ann’s in Keansburg. Removed from ministry. In 4/19 the diocese quietly updated its list, noting that there were multiple victims. Case reported to law enforcement, and to be sent to the Vatican. Per news in 6/20, Vaughan was accused in a lawsuit of anally penetrating an altar boy, age 8, in on multiple occasions 1987 and forced the boy into oral sex.
