Fr. Joseph J. Vogel
Army Chaplain 1942-45. Pastor of St.Mary’s in Strykersville and Annunciation in Elma. Established Queen of Heaven parish in West Seneca in 1955. Monsignor. In 2018 a woman alleged that when she was age 12 in 1970 Vogel sexually abused her in the rectory of Queen of Heaven. She said she told a nun, who was the school principal and that her parents told the assistant pastor. She said nothing was done. Vogel died in 1/19/88. Not on the diocese’s 3/20/18 list, which only included deceased clergy if they were the subject of more than one accusation. His accuser was offered a $75K settlement through its compensation program.
