Br. Marius. Joined the Xaverians in 1919. Worked in MD, MA, WI, KY, MI. Named publicly as accused by the Order on its list 7/12/2019. Allegation reported in 2003 that Shine sexually abused a boy at St. Mary’s Industrial School in Baltimore in the late 1940s. Shine was in charge of the youngest boys’ dorm, and would take a different boy into his room each night. The boy told his parents, who reported the abuse to the head of school and to the Archdiocese. No action. The boy’s parents took him out of the school. Shine’s accuser said he wasn’t the only Xaverian at the school abusing children. Shine died in 1974. On the Baltimore Archdiocese’s list 7/23/2019. Included in the 4/5/2023 MD Attorney General’s Report.
