BOSTON -- The Rev. Julian Edward Rondeau, Society of Marists, 81, of Boston, died June 28 at the Jeanne Jugan Residence in Somerville.

Father Rondeau was born in Lawrence, and attended Cheverus School in Malden, St. Charles in Providence, R.I., Maryvale Seminary in Bedford, and Marist College and Seminary in Framingham.

He made his first profession in 1939 and was ordained in to the priesthood in 1945.

Father Rondeau served in the the following parishes as an assistant or as pastor: St. Bruno, Van Buren, Maine; St. Anne, Lawrence; Immaculate Conception, Westerly, R.I.; Our Lady of Pity, Cambridge; Our Lady of Victories, Boston; St. Charles, Providence; St. Remi, Keegan, Maine; Assumption Parish, Chelsea; St. Joseph, Haverhill; and Mount Carmel Church, Methuen.

Most recently he was stationed at Our Lady of Lourdes Center, Boston.

Besides his Marist family, he leaves sisters Blanche Caduto of Providence, and Claire Barrett of West Orange, N.J.; and several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call tomorrow from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in Sacred Heart Church, 321 S. Broadway, Lawrence.

A Mass will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church, Lawrence. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Andover.

Arrangements are by Scott Funeral Home, 298 S. Broadway, Lawrence.
