  Twenty Persons Appointed to Faculty of Catholic School

Monroe High School, the Catholic preparatory school in Fairbanks has begun its fourth year with an increase of 24

students. A total of 71 students is enrolled.

Nine persons are on the high school staff, it was announced by Fr.

Boileau, S. J,, superintendent of Fairbanks Catholic Schools.

During 15 years of study as a Jesuit, Father Charles Saalfeld, S.J., received is M.A. in philosophy and A.B. in science and mathematics. Later he studied at Seattle University, M.I.T., Carnegie Institute and the University of Wisconsin. At the latter school he obtained his master's in science teaching. A year ago, he attended the summer session at the University of Alaska on a national science scholarship for science teachers. He has had 12 years' experience in teaching science and mathematics.
