  Many Priests to Take Part in Sunday Mass

The Rev. Robert R. Thomas, son of Mrs. Nettie Thomas, Port Dinton, will be ordained on Saturday, May 31, by the Most Rev. Egidio Vagnotti, D.D., Apostolic delegate to the United States at the Pontifical College Josephinum, Worthington.


He will celebrate his first Solemn High Mass at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Marblehead, on Sunday, May 29 at 11:30 a.m. (e.s.t.).

The ministers of the Mass assisting Reverend Thomas will be the Rev. E. James Peterson of Fresno, Calif., deacon; the Rev. Frederick Hug, former assistant at St Joseph's, Marblehead, and now assistant at St. Francis de Sales Church, Toledo, subdeacon; the Rev. Raymond C. Przybyla, pastor of St. Joseph's in Marblehead, Arch Priest. The sermon will be preached by the Rev. John J. Andel, pastor of St. Wenceslaus Church, Cleveland.

Attending priests will include the Rev. A. J. Schafer, former pastor of St. Joseph's in Marblehead, who launched Reverend Thomas on his path to the Holy Priesthood; the Rev. George Simchak, pastor of St. Mary's Greek Catholic Churchy in Marblehead and the Very Rev. Christian Baker, cousin of Reverend Thomas. Msgr. Baker is rector of the Divine Word Seminary, in Arlington Calif.

Following the ceremonies in church there will be a dinner and public reception at Biro's auditorium until 7 p.m. At this festive occasion Father Thomas will impart his first priestly blessing, on his mother Mrs. Nettie Thomas; his sisters, Mrs. Edith Svejda and Mrs. Marion Suchan, both of Cleveland, Mrs. Dorothy Malfara of Marblehead, their families and all those attending.

Reverend Thomas will also be celebrant in .the evening for the solemn benediction service which will mark the graduation exercises of the St. Joseph parish school.
