  Priest Faces Sex Charges

United Press International
June 7, 1986

A Roman Catholic priest was arrested Saturday and charged with sexually assaulting two people in a cabin, police said.

The Rev. Gerald Jasinski, 44, of St. Mary's Church in the Buffalo suburb of Lancaster, was charged with first-degree sodomy, first-degree sexual abuse and unlawful dealing with a child, said Sheriff Alan Capwell.

Capwell said the arrest resulted from an investigation by deputies of a complaint filed by two people, who said they had been assaulted last week at a cabin at Popular Point in Sheldon in Wyoming County.

The names and ages of the two were not released and details of the complaint were not revealed.

Jasinksi was released on $2,000 bail after pleading innocent at his arraignment in Orangeville Town Court, Capwell said.

He was scheduled to appear in court for further proceedings next week.
