  Rev. Wilton L. Skiffington

Mass for Rev. Wilton L. Skiffington, 85, a onetime teacher at Loyola Academy and St. Ignatius High School, was said Monday in the chapel of Columbiere Jesuit Residence, in Clarkston, Mich. Father Skiffington died in the residence Sunday. He had been a Catholic priest for 52 years. A member of the Society of Jesus, he spent most of his career teaching in parochial high schools in the Midwest. He taught English and religion at St. Ignatius High School, 1076 W. Roosevelt Rd., from 1952 to 1955, and at Loyola Academy from 1955 to 1965 spanning the period when the school was on Chicago's North Side and when it moved to 1100 Laramie Ave., Wilmette. After 1965, Father Skiffington was assigned to churches in the Los Angeles and San Diego areas. He is survived by a sister.
