CUT KNIFE, Sask. (CP) - The RCMP has asked the public to come forward with information about a former priest in the Marsden area of Saskatchewan who faces "numerous" charges of indecent assault in British Columbia.

A Canada-wide warrant for the arrest of Rev. Lucien Meunier, 74, who was the parish priest in Marsden from 1957 to 1965, has been issued by RCMP in Nelson, B.C.

Meunier is charged with sexual assaults between 1969 and 1970 against four people aged seven to 15.

Sgt. Richard Commer of RCMP detachment in Swift Current, Sask., said two people from the Marsden area have come forward with information about the ex-priest and more are expected.

Marsden is about 100 kilometres (62 miles) west of North Battleford, Sask.
