Prince of Peace Gets Substitute Priest

GREENVILLE - A "parochial administrator" has been named to replace the pastor at the Prince of Peace parish in Taylors who was suspended in November for allegations of sexual misconduct.

The Roman Catholic Diocese of Charleston named the Rev. Chester Moczydlowski, now pastor of St. James parish in Conway, to function as the Taylors priest.

Diocese spokeswoman Mary Jeffcoat said Moczydlowski would assume his new duties on March 22.

"Prince of Peace is one of the largest parishes in the diocese, and a priest needs to be on site," she said.

Father Paul Seitz has been on administrative leave since being accused by an unidentified witness of sexual misconduct with a minor 30 years ago in Aiken County.

Jeffcoat said no criminal charges have been filed against Seitz and he denied the allegations.
