Dear Parishioners,

It is with both gratitude and sadness that I am announcing that the Jesuit superiors at Creighton University are reassigning our senior associate pastor, Rev. Perry Robinson, SJ, to a sabbatical leave, effective immediately. Fr. Robinson has assisted us at St. Gerald's in various ways for over 20 years. Fr. Robinson's

health has slowed him down a bit, and this spring, Fr. Robinson will turn 70 years old. His Jesuit superiors believe that now is the right time for him to take a needed rest. Fr. Robinson will not be returning to St. Gerald's after his sabbatical leave. The Archbishop and I have been in discussion about the need for another priest to assist us at St. Gerald's, and he hopes to appoint an archdiocesan priest to serve as associate pastor in the near future. Please join me in praying for Fr. Robinson during this time of transition, and extending to him our best wishes.

I would add that we will do all we can to communicate to Fr. Perry our appreciation and prayers for him. I know the Grade School children will put together a Spiritual Bouquet. I am asking that the entire parish pray for Fr. Perry and promise that whenever they pray a Rosary during the next month that they include Fr. Perry in their intentions. I know that many will want to write him a note or give him a card/gift, please feel free to do this and Steve and Angie Luna will collect these and deliver them to the Jesuit Residence at Creighton regularly. The address of the Jesuit Community is: 2500 California Plaza, Omaha, NE 68178, if you wish to mail a card to him. Otherwise these cards can be brought to Church via the collection, dropped into the special boxes at the various entrances, or dropped off at the parish office.

Sincerely,

Fr. Korte
