New Clergy Assignments!

Bishop Randolph Calvo announces the following clergy assignments effective July 1, 2012:


Rev. Robert Chorey is appointed to Moderator of the Curia while remaining Pastor of St. Robert Bellarmine Parish in Fernley. Fr. Bob was ordained for ministry in the Diocese of Reno in May 2002.


Rev. Jorge Herrera will be the Pastor of St. Therese (Little Flower) Parish in Reno. His previous assignment was Holy Family Parish in Yerington, Our Lady of Perpetual Help, Hawthorne and St. John the Baptist Mission in Smith Valley. Fr. Jorge was ordained for ministry in the Diocese of Reno in May 2003.


Rev. Ariel Arias will be Pastor of Holy Family Parish, Yerington; Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish, Hawthorne; and St. John the Baptist Mission, Smith Valley. His previous assignment was Parochial Vicar of St. Therese (Little Flower) Parish in Reno. Fr. Ariel Arias was ordained for ministry in the Diocese of Reno in November 1985.


Rev. Hermes Binlayo will be Pastor of Sacred Heart Parish, Carlin; St. Brendan's Parish, Eureka; and St. Thomas Aquinas' Parish, Wells. His previous assignment was Parochial Vicar, St. Joseph's Parish in Elko. Fr. Hermes was ordained in September 2002.


Rev. Jose Sobarzo is appointed Pastor of St. Paul's Parish in Winnemucca and its' missions. Fr. Jose was ordained in July 2005.


Rev. Edgar Villanueva is appointed Pastor of St. John the Baptist Parish in Lovelock. Fr. Edgar was ordained for ministry in the Diocese of Reno in June 2008.

Rev. Philip George (picture not available) will be Administrator of St. Mary's in the Mountains Parish in Virginia City. Fr. Philip is coming from India and this will be his first assignment in the Diocese. Welcome!


Rev. Honesto Agustin will be Parochial Vicar of St. Albert's Parish in Reno. His previous assignment was Pastor of St. Therese (Little Flower) Parish in Reno. Fr. Honesto was ordained in the Philippines in August 1982.


Rev. Joseph Infante will be Parochial Vicar of St. Therese (Little Flower) Parish in Reno. His previous assignment was Parochial Vicar of St. Albert's Parish in Reno. Fr. Joseph is also from the Philippines and was ordained October 1992.


Rev. Jesus Ballesteros will be Parochial Vicar of St. Joseph's Parish in Elko. His previous assignment was Parochial Vicar of St. Teresa of Avila Parish in Carson City. Fr. Jesus was ordained for ministry in the Diocese of Reno in June 2010.


Rev. Mr. Thomas Nelson will be ordained to the priesthood on June 8! And he will be Parochial Vicar of St. Therese (Little Flower) Parish in Reno. Congratulations!


Rev. Mr. Doroteo Rojas will also be ordained to the priesthood on June 8! And he will be Parochial Vicar of St. Teresa of Avila Parish in Carson City. More congratulations!
