Father García is a native of Cuba who came to South Florida as a teenager. He was ordained for the Archdiocese of Miami on May 17, 1986 and has served as associate pastor at Sts. Peter and Paul, St. John Bosco and St. Michael the Archangel in Miami, as well as Our Lady of the Lakes in Miami Lakes and Little Flower in Hollywood. From 1996 to 2001 he served as pastor of St. Martin de Porres in Leisure City. He has been pastor of St. Agatha Parish in Miami since July 2001.
