  Detective-Priest 'Shocked' by Scandal

Boston Herald [Boston MA]
May 30, 2003

The Rev. David P. White, a police detective-turned-priest who investigated sexual abuse claims against Boston Archdiocese clergy, said in a February deposition the job consumed 12 hours a day, six days a week after the scandal exploded last year.

White's deposition, in which he said he was "shocked" by the volume of allegations, was released with that of the Rev. Paul R. Shanley, who invoked his Fifth Amendment rights more than 150 times and confirmed only his name.
