(CBS) GARY, Ind. The Chicago priest criminally charged with sexual abuse at a West Side parish is now under church review in Northwest Indiana.

The Gary Diocese says Father Daniel McCormack celebrated some First Communion masses at Saint Mary's Parish in Crown Point, Ind. It's believed those events happened over the last five years.

On Monday, the Survivors Network of Those Abused by Priests visited the Gary Diocese offices. SNAP wants an investigation into whether McCormack ever had any assignments at the parish or any occasion to be alone with children.

"The impact of this sexual abuse on us as kids has been devastating. And, you know, we just believe why risk any more pain and suffering? If someone is hurting, then the church should be reaching out to them," advocate Barbara Blaine said.

Bishop Dale Melczek tells CBS 2 McCormack never worked at Saint Mary's and was never alone with children.

To his knowledge, the masses celebrated were always done with adults and other pastors involved.

The Diocese says it will still look into the matter.
