Sacked Sabarimala priest Kantarau Mohanaru has charged the Ernakulam police range DIG Padmakumar of creating a controversy by making his complaint public without conducting a proper investigation.

Mohanaru had been sacked over an alleged sexual liaison. However, he has argued that the entire incident was a conspiracy.

Now, the police have arrested some of the people that the priest has accused of framing him.

The priest who was earlier expected to speak to the media in Kochi did not turn up for the press conference and entrusted his lawyers to speak on his behalf and clarify his position.

The lawyers K Ramkumar and S Krishnamurthy told the media that the allegations were aimed at tarnishing the image of the priest.

Conspiracy theory

They said that the priest visited the women in the Kochi flat to take with him a domestic help that the women had arranged for him.

And while he was discussing the wages for the domestic help, six persons, who spoke most of the time in English and Hindi, barged into the room.

They pounced on the priest and forced him to pose in nude with the woman.

They took the visuals and also took away 38 sovereigns of gold.

They added that the entire issue was part of larger conspiracy against the priest and the temple.
