  Eastern Iowa Youth Minister Pleads Guilty to Sex Abuse Charge

CLINTON, Iowa A former youth minister and reserve police officer has been sentenced to up to ten years in prison on a sexual abuse charge.

Theodore Hacker of DeWitt pleaded guilty to one count of third-degree sexual abuse and agreed to immediate sentencing. Police say he engaged in a sex act with a 14- or 15-year-old girl on or about March 1st and continuing through April 7th.Hacker was arrested April 12th by the DeWitt Police Department. He had served as a reserve captain for the department, and was dismissed from that volunteer post after his arrest.Two days before his arrest, he resigned as pastor of student ministries at DeWitt Evangelical Free Church.Hacker was being held at the Clinton County Jail pending a transfer to the Oakdale prison.
