Las Vegas Priest Accused in Assault Back in Clark County

A Las Vegas priest accused of a violent crime is back in Clark County and has been booked into the detention center.

Father George Chaanine was booked into the detention center early Saturday afternoon. Chaanine is accused of attacking a woman parishioner last month.

He is currently facing several charges, including sexual assault and attempted murder. After the alleged assault, Chaanine skipped town and was on the run for nearly a week before police captured him in Arizona.
