It was peaceful outside a Reading church this Sunday after plans to invite a priest accused of sexual misconduct were cancelled.

But not everyone is glad Father James Kiffmeyer didn't come.

Our Lady of the Sacred Heart had invited the former Fenwick High School teacher, who was accused of sexually abusing two students over the age of 18-year-olds.

There was a settlement, but no charges were ever filed and Kiffmeyer maintains his innocence.

"I knew he wasn't going to be here, but I was very very disappointed that he wasn't here because I just think he's a great guy and a great motivational speaker," said Kathy Wunder, a parishioner, "and I've missed his masses.

The Vatican recently overruled Archbishop Daniel Pilarczyk's removal of Kiffmeyer's priestly duties and ordered him reassigned.
