	Former St. Stan's Priest Accused of Misconduct By Deborah Sederberg The News-Dispatch July 25, 2007 http://thenewsdispatch.com/main.asp?SectionID=1&SubSectionID=1&ArticleID=2508&TM=62969.8 Michigan City - A priest who once served at St. Stanislaus has been accused of sexual misconduct. The Rev. Stanley Stanizewskii, who was ordained in Warsaw, Poland, served in the Diocese of Gary from 1974 to 1983. Deacon Mark Plaiss, a diocesan spokesman, said Staniszewski also served parishes in Porter and Lake counties, at Nativity of our Savior in Portage, at St. Casimir in Hammond and at St. Michael in Schererville. Plaiss did not have dates to indicate when he served at each parish. "He lives in Florida now, and is not in active ministry," Plaiss said. Plaiss did not know whether Stanizewski served elsewhere in the country after he left this diocese nor did he know whether the allegations came from this diocese. Those who have concerns about Stanizewski are asked to contact Ken Flanagan, who is delegated by Bishop Dale Melczek to handle sexual misconduct cases, at (219) 663-8417, Ext. 329.
