Naugatuck (CT) — A Naugatuck Catholic priest charged with sexual assault of a 15-year-old boy has been ordered by a superior court judge to have no contact with his accuser.

The Rev. Robert J. Grant, 63, of St. Mary and St. Hedwig churches, appeared briefly in Waterbury Superior Court Wednesday afternoon. The judge sealed the arrest warrant affidavit for 15 days in an attempt to protect the identity of the accuser.

Grant and his attorney, William St. John of Waterbury, both refused to comment to the press Wednesday.

Grant did not enter a plea Wednesday, and his next court date is Aug. 22.
