(CBS4) MIAMI A man filed a $10 million lawsuit against the Archdiocese of Miami on Friday alleging repeated sexual abuse at the hands of a priest at St. Timothy's Church in 2001.

According to the complaint, the victim, identified as "John Doe" attended St.Timothy's Catholic Church located at 5400 SW 102nd Ave, and while he was a 17-year-old altar boy, father Rolando Castillo allegedly abused him more than once. Castillo has temporarily stepped down from his post as the litigation goes forward but has not given a public statement. Attorney Jeffrey Herman is representing the man.

Castillo has temporarily stepped down from his post as the litigation goes forward.

"Knowing now that I'm older that this could be going on with other victims, it just doesn't seem right to let it slide like I was before," said the alleged victim, whose identity is being kept a secret.

Herman also says that other victims suffered at the hands of Father Castillo, but the Archdiocese did nothing to stop the problem.

In 2002, Archbishop John Clement Favalora named Father Rolando Castillo as administrator of St. Timothy Catholic Church and named him pastor on February 21st.

Mary Ross Agosta, spokeswoman for the Archdiocese of Miami, issued the following statement:

"The Archdiocese has never received any report of misconduct regarding Father Castillo….Father Castillo, while denying the allegation, has decided to temporarily step down from his duties as pastor…"
